Healthcare costs in the United States continue to increase at an alarming rate and a significant portion of this cost is driven by “unwarranted use,” in other words, tests and medications ordered by physicians that are of little value.
In response to this need, this module introduces the concepts of high-value care and equips learners with tools that will enable them to practice medicine with cost-consciousness. The module was developed for Pediatric Resident and Fellow trainees at Texas Children’s Hospital. Faculty members and trainees at other institutions may also find these concepts and materials helpful.
